Siavash est au volant d'une voiture, sa sœur Mahsa le filme, ils sont sur une route, quelque part aux USA. Dans la gueule de l'ogre prend la forme d'un road movie documentaire libre et gracieux, qui se déploie entre l'Iran et les États Unis, entre l'enfance, la mémoire et le présent. 

Figure punk, libre, rebelle et mystérieuse, Siavash traverse le film avec une présence à la fois fantasque, insaisissable et profondément mélancolique. À travers lui, le documentaire donne aussi accès à toute une culture underground et subversive, iranienne autant qu'américaine. Mais sa grande justesse tient surtout à l'attention de la sœur, à la délicatesse avec laquelle elle s'approche de lui.

Au fil du voyage, le frère et la sœur se découvrent autrement, comme si l'exil, les séparations et les devenirs divergents avaient transformé leur lien en une rencontre nouvelle. Le film interroge alors avec finesse ce qui reste de l'origine, ce qui se défait, ce qui se réinvente, entre identité, altérité et arrachement.

Siavash is behind the wheel, filmed by his sister Mahsa; they are on the road, somewhere in the United States. Into the jaws of the ogre takes the form of a free, graceful documentary road movie set between Iran and the US, hovering between childhood, memory, and the present.

A punk, independent, rebellious, and mysterious figure, Siavash moves through the film with a whimsical, evasive, and deeply melancholic presence. Through him, the documentary opens a window onto an entire underground and subversive culture, both Iranian and American. But its sharpest feature lies in Mahsa's gaze, and the delicacy with which she films her brother.

Throughout their journey, the siblings come to see each other in a new light, as if exile, separation, and divergent lives had turned their bond into a new kind of encounter. Into the jaws of the ogre becomes a subtle exploration of what remains of their origins, what is coming undone, and what is being reinvented, charting the tensions between identity, difference, and uprooting.
