Lauri-Matti Parppei est un·e cinéaste, musicien.ne et artiste plastique né·e à Helsinki en 1984. A light That Never Goes Out, son premier long métrage, a été présenté aux Arcs Work in Progress. Sa mini-série TV, A Strange Summer (2022) a été sélectionnée en compétition à Series Mania. Lauri-Matti est également la·e chanteur·euse du groupe Musta valo et a réalisé des courts métrages primés, tels que Silent as Murderers (2019) et The Last Day (2020). 

Lauri-Matti Parppei (1984) is a filmmaker, musician, and visual artist based in Helsinki, Finland. A light That Never Goes Out is their debut feature film that was presented in Les Arcs Work in Progress. Their midform TV series, A Strange Summer (2022) was selected to Series Mania competition. Beyond filmmaking, Lauri-Matti is the singer-songwriter of the band Musta valo and has directed several award-winning short films, including Silent as Murderers (2019) and The Last Day (2020).
